Iron Street Distillery
our story
est. 1928 · st. cloud, mn · engineers of great spirits
built from scratch. rooted in the east side.
Iron Street Distillery did not start with a blueprint.
It started with a building, a belief, and a deep love for the east side of St. Cloud.
Kevin and Julie Johnson saw more than an old industrial space. They saw history worth saving, a neighborhood worth investing in, and a place that could bring people together again.
We have a passion for the east side. We have friends here. We went to church here for 35 years. We just felt like this side of town needed some attention.
Julie Johnson
a legacy of hard work
Kevin Johnson has been a business owner in the St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids area for more than 40 years.
When he saw the opportunity to save a historic building on Iron Street and breathe new life into a corner of the city he had long called home, he did not hesitate.
Kevin and Julie's roots run deep here. They grew up connected to the east side through church, work, family, friendships, and community. They knew this neighborhood already had character, pride, and history.
It just needed a spark.
bringing the building back
Kevin and Julie spent a year and a half transforming the space from the ground up.
What had once been a massive industrial building became a working craft distillery, a cocktail room, a live music venue, a private event space, and a gathering place for the east side.
Every detail carries part of the building's past.
Exposed brick · Steel columns · Maple floors · Railway tracks · International Harvester legacy
Iron Street is not trying to erase what came before.
It is built to honor it.
what iron street is today
We are classic cocktails, handcrafted spirits, community events, live music, private gatherings, and a century of history poured into something new.
We are a family-owned distillery built inside a building that still has more stories to tell.
And we are just getting started.
